A Short Film Focused on Women Anglers in Southeast Alaska

Fly Fishing, Southeast Alaska, Women Anglers: Reel Happiness.  We are excited to support Kayla Roys and Sydney Akagi’s project focusing on women anglers in Southeast.

Kayla and Sydney’s team of Alaskan film producers and female anglers are currently applying to the Trout Unlimited F3T Fly Fishing Grant. This award amount is up to $15,000 that will go towards creating this film. To qualify for this grant we must first raise a percentage of the cost we are asking for, this is where the Kickstarter comes in!

If awarded this grant, the film will be on tour during the 2017 Trout Unlimited film tour to about 100 cities in the United States.

Although the initial goal has been reached, please consider adding additional support to Reel Happiness.  Your support of Alaskan projects not only encourages future projects, but also secures much needed additional funds to help make Reel Happiness a fantastic representation of Alaskan women anglers and will help to offset travel costs.16889a1f4d611b9bbfd3cef8ac443fe9_original

When you support Reel Happiness, you also receive a pretty snazzy Messy Hair Stubborn Spirit T-Shirt design, that by all means captures the spirit of all Alaskan women anglers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MONIC FLY LINES LAUNCHES NEW CONSUMER-CENTRIC WEBSITE

BOULDER, CO – December 29, 2015 – Flow Tek, Inc. of Boulder, manufacturers of Monic Fly Lines since 1995, has launched a completely new website (www.monic.com) to display the updated Monic product line to consumers and dealers.

“The focus of this new website is education on the product line,” states Steve Tatarchuk, Monic Business and Product Manager. “The new fly lines from Monic float higher, last longer, have less memory and are stronger than anything on the market. A new website is the most efficient way to get this information out to anglers and allows us to easily adapt to talking about new developments as they are issued. The eco-friendly nature of our lines and the simplicity of having a line that works in all temperatures is going to need some deeper explanation until consumers latch on. The website allows us to send that message,” adds Tatarchuk.

Monic Fly Lines will only be available for purchase through independent retailers and will not be sold direct through the website. The new site features a dealer locator as well as links to online stores that are authorized to sell the product line.

Monic Fly Lines are fully manufactured in the USA with facilities located at the foot of the Flatirons in Boulder, CO. The goal of the business is to create the best fly lines on the market, and give back to fly fishing as much as it gives to its anglers. All Monic fly lines have always been 100 percent PVC-free and are an eco-friendly alternative to vinyl or polyurethane.

For more information and dealership inquiries, contact Monic Fly Lines at 303-530-3050 or send an email to info@monic.com.

MADE IN THE USA: Simms Fishing Products

A visit to the Bozeman, Montana Headquarters for Simms always gets us thinking, MADE IN THE USA.

MADE IN THE USA is a pretty powerful statement.  We get asked quite a bit about what we like most about Simms. As many of you know, we get the opportunity to visit Simms in Bozeman quite often.  The thing that resonates the most every visit is, MADE IN THE USA.

Each trip to the factory reminds us that every time I strap my waders on, somebody at Simms took the time not only to design and craft one of the most important tools in my gear bag, but also meticulously inspected and tested my waders before they got to my door.

Next time you head down to the river, give yourself a high five or a heel kick in your Simms waders.  Your investment in the best waders on the market not only keep you dry and comfortable but also supported a local business with over 100 employees who stand behind what they do living, fishing and working in Bozeman, Montana.
